If you are a registered user you can add a news item or announcement by following these steps:

1. Log in
2. Click on the menu item called "Create content", which appears on the left immediately under your user name.
3. You will be presented with three kinds of content: image, page, or story. Click on story (you can go there now by clicking on this link).
4. Once you click on story you will be presented with a form that you can fill in. You need to provide a title and some content. You might find it simplest to cut and paste text into the box marked Body. You don't need to know any HTML, although you can use some if you wish. For example, text enclosed by a pair of <em> </em> tags will be displayed in italics
5. News items can be classified into one of several categories. Click on the Announcements menu to display a list of categories.
   
6. You can see what your news item will look like by clicking on the Preview button. Once you're happy with it, click on Submit

You story will now appear on the home page of the site. The site also generates a news feed so that other web sites or individuals you have subscribed to the news feed will be able to see your story. If you've not come across news reading software, have a look at the RSS info page at Blogspace.com.
